CGS Skillbridge FAQ
Both terms, “SkillBridge” and “Career Skills Program”, are used interchangeably under the Department of Defense (DoD) SKB Program. SKB provides eligible Military members an opportunity to develop skills through civilian-on-the-job training, employment skills training, apprenticeships, and internships preparing them to transition from military to civilian employment.
Service members must be able to complete the program within their last 180 days of military service. The exact time frame depends on the length of their approved training programs. The service member must obtain approval from their chain of command, which varies by each branch of the service. Commanders may approve or disapprove participation by their service member based upon unit mission requirements.
We look for those willing to explore new challenges and embrace this opportunity of on-the-job training as an effective way to translate skills from one industry to another. The goal of the SkillBridge Program is for transitioning members of the military to secure fulfilling career opportunities at Chugach Government Solutions (CGS).
SkillBridge opportunities are based on the current needs of Chugach Government Solutions and its subsidiaries and our various geographic availability, as well as the potential to provide regular, full-time employment upon program completion. While we cannot guarantee placement into the program.
